The US, UK, Russia and France amongst others are engaged in a competition to sell as many advanced weapons systems as we can to any state that can afford to pay for them anywhere around the globe. Unfortunately, most of the countries with the cash to fund these purchases are undemocratic or ‘rogue’ states that tend to subjugate their own people or those in neighbouring states (or, in Israel’s case, the state-less).
All of our countries governments claim to want to foster peace and stability across the planet. That must be why America in particular has sold billions of dollars worth of missile systems and other weaponry to countries in that hotbed of democracy known as the Middle East.
What could possibly go wrong?.
