Once every 6 weeks or so, since Jeremy Corbyn assumed the mantle of the Labour leadership, James O’Brien has hosted a phone-in where he has invited supporters, the so-called Corbynistas, to call in and try to prove or explain why Corbyn is a good thing for the Labour party.
It’s essentially a version of his “UKIP supporter / Farage the demagogue” show with the ‘cult of personality’ among the progressive left as the main target. Indeed, he often makes the comparison between the “blind” and “irrational” support of each man’s ‘base’ of supporters and has recently even compared Corbyn’s supporters to the ignorant hordes of Trump worshippers in the United States.
On this show, broadcast on 6 May 2016, he devoted almost 2 hours to the subject with some surprising results.
